Welcome to Waterford Micro Business Network
The Waterford Micro Business Network (MBN) was established in 2005 by Waterford Area Partnership to assist people who are setting up their own business. Support to the network is provided through the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) which targets employment and self-employment supports to unemployed and disadvantaged individuals.

Starting Your Business

Each year in Ireland there are thousands of individuals who take the giant step towards self employment. While self employment is extremely rewarding it can also be very challenging.

For many sole traders the transition to working on their own can be an isolating one. Once set up in business you find yourself with extra roles such as decision maker, sales person, and accounts person.

Business Networking

This in itself can be stressful and confusing. While many courses and workshops exist to enable you train appropriately for these roles.

In order to overcome any day to day difficulties it is important to have a support system in place.

One way to do this is by networking. Networking has been cited as crucial to business and personal success.
